The Cho Doo-soon case (Korean: 조두순 사건) refers to an assault that took place in Ansan, South-Korea, in December 2008, in which an eight-year-old girl known only as Na-young (a pseudonym) was kidnapped and raped by Cho Doo-soon, a 56-year-old male, in a bathroom inside a church. She was seriously injured in the attack.
Doctors said Na-young sustained irreversible damage to her genitals, anus and intestines, which initially required her to wear a colostomy bag to replace her missing organs. [ 9 ] [ 10 ] Cho was arrested three days after the incident; he was a habitual sex offender with 17 prior crimes, and had spent three years in prison for rape in 1983.
"Nayoung" is the alias of the victim, not her real name. Of course, lots of South Koreans still call this case as "Nayoung Case", but the name has been controversy since the case is called as the victim's alias. I think the name of this article must be changed to "Cho Doo Soon Case".--175.138.150.1 12:04, 5 July 2017 (UTC)
