Torfaen 51°38′41″N 3°02′52″W / 51.64462°N 3.04773°W / 51.64462; -3 Fairwater is a community and suburb of Cwmbran in the county borough of Torfaen , in south east Wales , and was built by the Cwmbran Development Corporation between 1963 and 1966.
The Cwmbran Centre, renamed M Cwmbran from March 2024, [2] is a shopping centre, office and leisure complex in the town of Cwmbran, Torfaen, Wales. It was formerly named Cwmbran Shopping, then renamed Cwmbran Centre on 3 July 2017.
The college operates from five campuses [5] – City of Newport, Crosskeys, Usk, Blaenau Gwent Learning Zone in Ebbw Vale, [6] and the Torfaen Learning Zone (a £24 million purpose-built campus, in Cwmbran). [7] There are also two 'Learn-IT' centres, based in Monmouth and Cwmbrân.
The county council was abolished in 1996 and Torfaen became a principal area with county borough status, with the council taking over the functions previously performed by the county council. [ 5 ] Borough status allows Torfaen to give the chair of the council the title of mayor.
