Newton High School is a public high school located in Newton, Texas, United States and classified as a 3A school by the UIL. It is part of the Newton Independent School District located in central Newton County. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency. [2]
For girls, the sports are basketball, bowling, cross country, field hockey, lacrosse, tennis, indoor and outdoor track, and volleyball. [1] In some sports, there are no group championships. In these sports — all schools, public and non-public alike — compete for a single state championship. For boys, the sports are fencing and golf.
The Newton High School Braves [2] compete in the Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference, which is comprised of public and private high schools from Morris, Sussex and Warren counties, and was established following a reorganization of sports leagues in Northern New Jersey by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA).
