Richard Jay Corman (July 22, 1955 – August 23, 2013) [1] was the founder and owner of R. J. Corman Railroad Group, a Nicholasville, Kentucky-based railroad services and short line operating company.
R. J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC is a privately owned railroad services and short line operating company headquartered in Nicholasville, Kentucky, with field locations in 22 states. It was owned by Richard J. Corman , who established the company in 1973, and ran it until his death on August 23, 2013.

Nicholasville is a home rule city [7] in and the county seat of Jessamine County, Kentucky. [8] The population was 31,490 during the 2020 U.S. census, making Nicholasville the 10th-largest settlement in the state. Since the late 20th century, Nicholasville has undergone rapid growth; the population increased 440.23% between 1970 and 2020.
The locomotive was renumbered to 2008, since it made its inaugural run on May 24, 2008, and it was subsequently used for group tours and excursion services during special occasions. After Richard Corman passed away in 2013, No. 2008 was stored indoors, and new management at R.J. Corman made plans to donate it to the city of Midway, Kentucky.
