The Lawyers' Movement, also known as the Movement for the Restoration of Judiciary or the Black Coat Protests, was the popular mass protest movement initiated by the lawyers of Pakistan in response to the former president and army chief Pervez Musharraf's actions of 9 March 2007 when he unconstitutionally suspended Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry as the chief justice of Pakistan's Supreme Court.

Ali Ahmad Kurd (Urdu: على احمد كُرد), is a Pakistani lawyer, who served as the president of the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan and was one of the most prominent figures in the Lawyers' Movement of 2007. He opposed the military government of Pervez Musharraf, who ruled the country from 1999 to 2008. [1] [2]
In September 2021, Afridi was one of the founders of the National Democratic Movement. Afridi had a prominent legal career, culminating in his election as president of the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan in 2020. Prior to this, Afridi was the president of the Peshawar High Court Bar Association and was a leader in the Lawyers' Movement.
