Zachary is located in northern East Baton Rouge Parish. It is bordered to the north by the city of Slaughter, to the east by Central, and to the south by Baker. Louisiana Highway 19 passes through the city, leading north 5 miles (8 km) to the center of Slaughter and south 9 miles (14 km) to U.S. Route 61 in the northern part of Baton Rouge.
Louisiana Highway 19 (LA 19) is a state highway located in southeastern Louisiana. It runs 33.93 miles (54.61 km) in a north–south direction from U.S. Highway 61 (US 61) in Baton Rouge to the Mississippi state line north of Norwood .
Drumright is 26 miles (42 km) west of Sapulpa, 42 miles southwest of Tulsa and 76 miles northeast of Oklahoma City at the junction of State Highways 16, 33 and 99. [5] According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 7.5 square miles (19.5 km 2 ), of which 0.02 square miles (0.04 km 2 ), or 0.19%, is water.
Louisiana Highway 64-1 (LA 64-1) runs 1.98 miles (3.19 km) in an east–west direction between US 61 and a local road west of Zachary. It was part of LA 64 until a portion of the Mt. Pleasant–Zachary Road was returned to local control in 2015, leaving a gap in state maintenance.
The present incarnation of SH-16 first appeared on Oklahoma's state highway map in 1937 as a gravel highway connecting Bristow to Beggs. [3] This would be SH-16's extent for nearly two decades. This section of the highway was first paved in 1950. [4] SH-16 was not extended beyond Beggs until 1954, when it was extended east to US-62 and US-64.
