Matthew Kiichi Heafy (/ ˈ h eɪ f i / HAY-fee; born January 26, 1986) [1] is a Japanese-American musician, best known as the guitarist and lead vocalist for heavy metal band Trivium. [2] He was also the lead vocalist for the band Capharnaum , along with Trivium's former producer Jason Suecof .

In an interview with hardDrive, Heafy stated that the working title for the album was "The Revanchist" and that the album was going to have gold and neon colors, however those plans were changed once Heafy's wife, Ashley, presented the band with symbols for each accompanying song. The band then decided to use that artwork instead.

On December 2, 2014, it was announced by Matt Heafy on Twitter that Ember to Inferno would be re-released again with new artwork along with the band's early demo EPs. [4] The re-release was officially revealed on October 14, 2016, via Trivium's Facebook page. It was released on December 2, 2016, two years after the initial announcement by Heafy.
