North Carolina Highway 705 (NC 705) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of North Carolina. The route is marked as the Pottery Highway or Pottery Road and as a North Carolina Scenic Byway [ 2 ] due to the large number of potters in and surrounding Seagrove .
NC 281 was established in 1930 as a new primary route, from NC 28, in Lake Toxaway, to NC 106, in Tuckasegee. [6] In 1980, NC 281 was extended west along US 64 overlap, from Lake Toxaway to near Sapphire, and then along new primary routing to the South Carolina state line. [ 7 ]

NC 81 was designated in 1934 as a renumbering of NC 10 from US 25 (current Biltmore Avenue) to US 70/US 74 (current US 74A).
