Westfarms is a shopping mall on the West Hartford–Farmington town line in the U.S. state of Connecticut. It was opened in 1974, expanded in 1982 and 1995–1997, and remodeled in 2008–2009. With 1,267,000 square feet (117,700 m 2) of gross leasable area, Westfarms is the third-largest mall in Connecticut.
Farmington is a town in Hartford County in the Farmington Valley area of central Connecticut in the United States. The town is part of the Capitol Planning Region . The population was 26,712 at the 2020 census . [ 2 ]
The Farmington Historic District encompasses a 275-acre (111 ha) area of the town center of Farmington, Connecticut. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. The area roughly corresponds to the section of Route 10 between Route 4 and U.S. Route 6, and includes 115 buildings, primarily residences, built before 1835.

In December 1993, Timothy J. Devanney bought out his two brothers and proceeded to open a Highland Park Market in Farmington in 1995. He expanded the Manchester store again in 1985 (the space was already devoted to the bakery and deli departments), opened a store in Suffield in 2001, and finally opened the sixth store South Windsor in 2005.
Samuel Woodruff, Southington's first white settler, moved from Farmington to the area then known as "Panthorne" that was settled in 1698. The land was formerly occupied by the Tunxis or Sepores Indians. [2] The settlement grew, prospered, and came to be known as "South Farmington" and then later, the shortened version, Southington.
