"Watch the World Burn" begins as a dramatic, Eminem-influenced hip hop song before building into a metalcore chorus and breakdown in the second half. [7] The song was produced by Ronnie Radke and DangerKids vocalist Tyler Smyth, which they composed alongside Wage War guitarist Cody Quistad and FIR members Christian Thompson and Tyler Burgess. [8]
He formed several bands while in high school. Radke ran away from home to play in his first band, with his friend Mitch, called 3.0. which according to Radke "sounded exactly like Blink 182". He lived with Mitch and his mother for a time. They played a few shows at various venues such as Chain Reaction and the Huntridge in Las Vegas.
Radke finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world, fleeing from demons and a S.W.A.T team, before appearing with Tech N9ne, who is shown to be God, and sends Radke to hell. He confronts the Devil, who is shown to be Alex Terrible; the video ends with the two fighting, without knowing who was the winner of the fight.
John Farnham was keen to change his sound on Chain Reaction from his previous two studio albums Whispering Jack (October 1986) and Age of Reason (July 1988). Consequently, he enlisted the song writing help of Southern Sons' guitarist Phil Buckle, producer Ross Fraser and former bandmate and keyboardist David Hirschfelder: nine of the twelve songs on the album are co-written by Farnham.
