The Hiding Place is a 1975 film based on the autobiographical book of the same name by Corrie ten Boom that recounts her and her family's experiences before and during their imprisonment in a Nazi concentration camp during the Holocaust during World War II. The Ten Boom family ran a watch shop (horlogerie) on the corner of an alleyway and the main shopping street of Haarlem, the Netherlands. The Hiding Place is an autobiographical book written by Corrie ten Boom with John and Elizabeth Sherrill. It was published in 1971. The Sherrills came up with the idea for The Hiding Place while doing research for another book of theirs called God's Smuggler. At the time, ten Boom was already in her mid-70s.
