Windsor Castle is all decked out for Christmas. The royal residence unveiled its 2024 holiday decor on Thursday, November 21, and to say the grounds are decorated impeccably is an understatement.
The school began as a grammar school in 1854 and was turned into a high school in 1871 and was known as Windsor Collegiate Institute until 1929, when it was renamed, J.C. Patterson, after a Windsor lawyer and politician. The official cornerstone for the building was placed in 1888, and the school remained on the same site until its closing in 1973.
Weekly boarders go home at the week-end, full boarders usually only in school holidays and at half-terms. Boys aged 11 (Year 6) and above must be either full or weekly boarders, while many younger boys board on a flexible basis. They are grouped by years and looked after by three sets of "houseparents" per year group. [4]
