Rey Sr., born Miguel Ángel López Díaz, is the uncle of Dominik's father Óscar Gutiérrez, best known as Rey Mysterio (Jr.). Rey Sr. was born, raised, and spent his entire wrestling career in Mexico; Dominik, born and raised in the U.S., made his wrestling debut in 2020 in WWE.
