We're using Outlook 2003 with Exchange. I want to know what my mailbox quota size is. (Yes, I realize I can ask the systems guys, but assume that's not feasible here.) Is there any way within Outlook to find out what my mailbox limit is? I know how big it is (Mailbox > Properties > Folder Size), I just want to know what the quota is.
I know for example that under macOS you have to hide the reading panel to be able to show add the size of mails via the top bar. However via the Browser Version of Outlook I cannot show it. The closest I get is to Sort by Size and then it only groups the mails like: Medium (25KB - 100KB) Big (100KB - 500KB) Very Big (500KB - 1MB) Hug (1MB - 5MB)
By default, Personal Folders (.pst) and offline Outlook Data File (.ost) files are in Unicode format in Microsoft Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013. The overall size of .pst and .ost files has a preconfigured limit of 50 GB. That is in 2010 and 2013. The default .pst and .ost file size limit in Outlook 2007 and in Outlook 2003 is 20 GB.
For outlook 2007 and later Microsoft states that there is a limit of 500 folders in cached mode or when using a pst file or shared mailbox. There is also a limit of 50,000 items for outlook 2007 and 100,000 for outlook 2010,2013 and 2016. Approaching these limits may also have performance implications.

Reduce the size of a Personal Folders file (.pst) If you delete items from a Personal Folders file (.pst), the file is automatically compacted in the background when you’re not using your computer and Outlook is running. If you want to immediately reduce the size of the file, you can force a compaction.
Through Office 365 (Outlook version 1902). Through Microsoft Outlook Web App. What I have been doing thus far to (imperfectly) clean up my mailbox when it gets full is: Look in several folders (Inbox and others) with sorting set to "Conversations by size", and delete any large conversations I no longer need; and
The duration that deleted items remain in this folder is based on the deleted item retention settings configured for the mailbox database or the mailbox. By default, a mailbox database is configured to retain deleted items for 14 days, and the recoverable items warning quota and recoverable items quota are set to 20 gigabytes (GB) and 30 GB ...
Outlook will prompt you to do this whether or not you are low on space. Archiving moves emails to another folder in a static .pst file stored locally (network stored pst files give huge performance problems and can cause more crashes, so not worth it - stick with it being on your local drive and make a backup of it)
I moved ALL the emails from my A.pst to A1.pst and A2.pst. Originally, my A.pst was about 8 GB, A1.pst became 4 GB, A2.pst became 3 GB but after the move, A.pst is still 3 GB.
