Starset is an American rock band from Columbus, Ohio, [3] formed by Dustin Bates in 2013. [4] They released their debut album, Transmissions , in 2014 [ 5 ] [ 6 ] [ 7 ] and their second album, Vessels , on January 20, 2017. [ 8 ]
Both of Starset's studio albums, Transmissions and Vessels, are concept albums centered around the "Starset Society", a fictional group investigating the positive and negative effects of science and technology on society. [8] Specifically, Bates describes Vessels as a story about a "dark dystopian" journey related to this investigation. [8]
