Aravan Festival [1] also known as "Koothandavar Thiruvizha" is festival celebrated in seven places in Coimbatore city such as Vellalore, Thudiyalur, Kurichi, Singanallur, Annur, Vadavalli and Kattampatti since ancient times. It is celebrated for the Aravan, a major character in Hindu epic Mahabarata. [2]

The village host an annual festival called Mariamman Kovil Thiruvizha, which includes various Hindu religion rituals in the temple and festivities such as musical performances and dance. Most of the current generation villagers have migrated to nearby towns and cities such as Thanjavur , Tiruchirapalli and Nagapattinam .
Other festivals of the temple include 'Muzhalkuttu Thiruvizha' during the Tamil month of Aadi, 'Navarathri' during the Tamil month of Purattasi and 'Thailakkappu Utsavam' during the Tamil month of Thai. There are many temples in Nattarasankottai, including a Sivan temple. Ashtami Thiruvizha and Sivarathri are the festivals of this temple.
