Our Version of Events is the debut studio album by Scottish singer Emeli Sandé.The album was released on 13 February 2012 by Virgin Records, following Sandé's winning of the Critics' Choice Award at the BRIT Awards 2012.
[note 1] She worked with Naughty Boy (credited as a songwriter with his legal name Shahid Khan) for the majority of the songs on the album, including writing "Where I Sleep" and "River" together. The official music video was released alongside the single. Directed by Mac Grant and Chad Tennies, the video opens with JID going into an older model vehicle. He starts rapping as he is driving, with women in the passenger seats of the car. [9] In a garage, he raps while surrounded by women, and is seen atop a car.
Two cover songs were recorded for We Have you Surrounded. The first being the new wave song "Sherlock Holmes", originally by the band Sparks from the album Angst in My Pants (1982). [9] The second cover was of the song "Fire in the Western World" by the garage rock band Dead Moon. [1] The cover illustration and lettering were done by Gary Panter.
