Immediately following the creation of the new district, an additional tax levy for operation expenses was requested of voters and was approved. That same year, a bond issue to pay for construction of additional school buildings was also requested of voters, and was approved. The years from 1957 to 1960 were tumultuous ones for the district.

The township, and all of Burlington County, is a part of the Philadelphia-Reading-Camden combined statistical area and the Delaware Valley. [21] Riverside was incorporated as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 20, 1895, from portions of Delran Township. [22] A portion of the township was annexed by Delran in 1901. [23]
