The Easybeats were an Australian rock band which formed in Sydney in late 1964. They are best known for their 1966 hit single " Friday on My Mind ", which is regarded as the first Australian rock song to achieve international success; Rolling Stone described it as "the first international victory for Oz rock ". The basic tracks to "She's So Fine" were recorded in early 1965 at Armstrong Studios in Melbourne. Additional recording took place later when they returned to Sydney. [1] The single was a break-through hit for the Easybeats, gaining them nationwide attention.
"Friday on My Mind" is a 1966 song by Australian rock group the Easybeats. Written by band members George Young and Harry Vanda, [5] the track became a worldwide hit, reaching No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in May 1967 in the US, No. 1 on the Dutch Top 40 chart, [6] No. 1 in Australia and No. 6 on the UK singles chart, as well as charting in several other countries.

Most of the album was recorded at EMI Studios in Sydney in two consecutive all-night sessions. [2] It was produced by Albert Productions founder, Ted Albert. It also features their hit single "She's So Fine", which was recorded at Armstrong Studios in Melbourne with further overdubs in Sydney.
By mid-1965, the Easybeats had established themselves as the most popular band in Australia, owing to their two top-ten singles "She's So Fine" and "Wedding Ring", both upbeat pop songs regarding love. [1] Their popularity in Australia was comparable to Beatlemania, and the press dubbed this phenomenon as "Easyfever" in response. [2]
During scenes at a high school dance, the band played cover versions of "At the Hop" and "Louie, Louie" as well as their original composition, "She's So Fine". [ 1 ] [ 2 ] Their version of "At the Hop" was released as a single in 1973. [ 3 ]
