The CamPro CFE engine is the light-pressure intercooled turbocharged version of the 1.6-litre CamPro engine, with the maximum boost pressure of 0.75 bar (75 kPa; 10.9 psi). The CFE is the acronym of "Charged Fuel Efficiency". [14]
Proton claims the turbocharged 1.6-litre CamPro CFE is equivalent to a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre engine. The CamPro CFE consumes 6.6 litres of fuel per 100 km, while running at 90 km/h and was designed to conform to Euro V emission standards. [17]
The Exora Bold Premium and Exora Prime are powered by Proton's new CamPro CFE engine, which was developed in house by Proton and Lotus. CFE stands for "Charged Fuel Efficiency." The facelifted Exora became the first Malaysian car to feature a turbocharged engine. In form of new bumper, the Exora Bold Executive is the facelift model of Exora M-Line.
The CamPro Turbo was previously known as the CamPro CFE, in which CFE stood for Charged Fuel Efficiency. Proton opted to rename the engine in favour of clarity & conciseness. [54] The CamPro Turbo incorporates a low-pressure intercooled turbocharger that delivers 138 horsepower (103 kW) at 5,000 rpm and 205 Nm of torque between 2,000 and 4,000 ...
Officially known as the 1.6L CamPro CFE, it is capable of producing power and torque figures of 138 bhp (103 kW) at 5,000 rpm and 205 N·m at 2,000–4,000 rpm respectively, comparable to a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine, while achieving better fuel efficiency and reduced greenhouse emissions.
It is however worth noting that Proton's older CamPro CPS and more recent CamPro CFE also offer VVT technology. The new 1.3 and 1.6 engines will also offer reduced emissions, in line with Proton's intentions to sell the P2-30A in markets which impose taxes based on emissions such as the European Union. [1]
It shared the engine found in the Saga taxi variant, but lacked many features, including a driver's airbag. [9] One month later, the Proton Saga SE was unveiled. Priced between RM43,000 and RM45,500, it was sold as a premium variant with just 2 colour options and a unique body kit, mated to the CamPro 1.3 engine found in the other models. [10]
The engine now produces 145 bhp (108 kW; 147 PS), approximately 13.8 percent more power than a normal CamPro CPS. with an improved torque of 168 N⋅m (124 lb⋅ft). Top speed reaches 205 km/h (127 mph) and the century run is achieved in 12.2 seconds. The gear ratios were also revised to match the engine upgrade.
