These 2×4 Christmas tree woodworking plans will help you get through this project without issue. There is lots of room for creativity with these 2×4 Christmas trees too. If you want to make your tree taller, make the pieces longer. If you want it wider, start with a wider base.
Step 3: Cutting Slats to Length. Now, take your strips to the miter saw and set it to 13 degrees. This angle will give your tree a nice proportion. Stack the strips with the narrow edge facing up, stagger them a bit, and make your first cut. Flip the stack to make the next cut and repeat until you have all the slats cut to length.

These easy to make wood Christmas trees are made from construction 2x4s and a 4x4. The trees can be left as is, or decorated with lights to add more sparkle to the outside of your home at night! These plans make 2 trees (one smaller and one larger) at the same time.
If you want to make a smaller wooden tree you can use a 2×4 or 1×4 board instead and follow my small DIY wood Christmas tree tutorial. This smaller DIY Christmas tree version works great for small spaces, for indoor decor, or for displaying small holiday decor or mason jar decor.
Build the base of the tree first using glue and nails. Then glue and nail the tree together. Next you will outline the tree onto a piece of 1/4" plywood and cut it out with a jig saw. (Check your scrap pile, or purchase a 2'x4' panel). Watch! Glue and nail the plywood cut out to the back of the tree.
