Commerce Place is an office and retail complex in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The complex's skyscraper stands at 125 m (410 ft) or 27 storeys tall and was completed in 1990. [4] Commerce Place has a small selection of shops in the main levels of the mall [5] and is connected to Edmonton City Centre and Manulife Place by pedway. [6]
The original plan for what was then called Eaton Centre, announced in 1980, called for several large office and apartment towers. None of the originally designed five towers was ever built but the multi-level Eaton Centre mall and the Delta Edmonton Centre Suite Hotel were salvaged from the project by heavy civic tax subsidies.
