You want protection from the government to protect your 4th amendment rights from illegal search and seizure from your online activity I would say use Yandex. I know Google, Apple and Microsoft would happily comply with a government request for your information. I am thinking yandex would probably ignore any requests for information.

  3. should i use yandex? : r/browsers - Reddit

Yandex is Russia's Google. Ignoring the fact that it's Russian, if you have no issues with Google's or Microsoft's privacy policies, you shouldn't have issues with Yandex. One will hand your data to the USA, the other will hand your data to Russia. Nothing majorly different. If you do not like using Russian products, then you shouldn't use Yandex.

I understand you are referring to privacy, so I will answer in the context of that. No, Yandex has abysmal privacy. Yandex is a Russian advertising company. They are basically the Google of Russia, and using Yandex Browser is basically the equivalent of using Chrome. They use your personal information for advertising, just like Google.

Nah, Yandex Browser is an ad for Yandex's services with a Chromium engine. Outside of my personal feelings about the war and Russia's government, I don't use many of Yandex's services, and having my data being sent to companies like Meta, Google and Microsoft is more than enough for me.

Im currently using bravesearch, however yandex blows every search engine out of the water when it comes to piracy and pirated streams. U can literally search "X vs Y free live stream" and boom, yandex will provide u with free and high quality streams. Its kinda like how google was back in 2014/15.

The doubts you already have is your gut telling you don’t do it. I wouldn’t. Russia is an authoritarian dictatorship. They arrest Americans on bullshit charges or trumped up charges and hold them as political bargaining chips. Nothing against the Russian people this is the government I’m talking about. I used yandex for a while, I don’t ...

St. Petersburg and Moscow are safe, although standard traveler precautions still apply. - Start by installing a Google or Yandex translator app + Uber or Yandex Taxi. Use the apps and don't let the cab scammers usher you into their car unless you are okay with paying x50 the actual fare.

I was hesitating to install & try yandex browser for years because of the internet comments, when I installed it & try, I made it my default browser in the same day. I installed yandex browser later past year & satisfied with its' smooth performance. It's comparatively uses less ram & cpu usage.( perhaps hence it's a 32 bit browser.)

  11. Is Yandex Browser a good choice? : r/browsers - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/browsers/comments/h92y7r/is_yandex_browser_a_good_choice

Yandex's customization is fair, better than Vivaldi's or Firefox's. I think it is a great browser, but I have heard privacy is a critical issue for Yandex. Anyways, I think Yandex is a Browser mostly used for leaving Chrome, as it is easy to use. Conclusion: Use Yandex to start experimenting with new browsers (that's where I began!)
