March 17, 2023 10:03 PM. That’s a really interesting story that r7 posted, the Lutheran nuns originally from Germany ran a guesthouse for Holocaust survivors in Israel. Guests stayed for free. It was closing because remaining survivors were becoming too old to travel. by Anonymous.
Doris Day and Audrey Hepburn were 2 movies icons who were not allowed to age on screen. Day finished up her career making a TV series that her husband had signed her to make and then left Hollywood altogether. After Hepburn came out of retirement she made a few ill fated movies and then died from cancer at only age 63.
Forget the stories of how hard it was on set, Marilyn gives a comedic performance for the ages as Sugar Kane. She won the Golden Globe but wasn't even nominated for the Oscar. Not a story about the Shoah that includes some bits and pieces about a young girl's awakening. Jerzy Kosinski's "The Painted Bird" and Art Spiegelman's "Maus" are both excellent stories about the horrors of the Shoah that happen to also be well told stories.

Like many other females since, then and now the good lady was blonde (or at least light hair), and attractive enough as a young woman way most are. As others have stated Ginger Rogers was pretty enough in an attainable way.
The basic story is a lot of artistic, internal navel gazing, which is inherently undramatic. I guess I'm not compelled by "no one understands my art and life" stories whether its Tic, Tic Boom! or Rent.
