Mary DeNeale Morgan (May 24, 1868 – October 10, 1948) also known as M. DeNeale Morgan, was an American plein air painter, especially in watercolor, and printmaker. She was the director the Carmel Summer School of Art sponsored by the Carmel Arts and Crafts Club and a founding member of the Carmel Art Association (CAA) in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.

In 1834, the Morgan family moved to Quincy, Illinois, [5] where James D. Morgan opened a cooper shop, along with Edward Wells. In 1837 he joined the "Quincy Grays," a militia group. In 1839, he became a grocer. He also joined the C. M. Pomroy firm. C. M. Pomroy ran a pork packing business. James D. Morgan stayed in the Pomroy firm for 25 years. [5]
Morgan was born on February 16, 1921, in New York City. His parents were Edwin D. Morgan Jr. (1890–1954) and Elizabeth Winthrop (née Emmet) Morgan (1897–1934). [2] His younger brother was Temple Emmet Morgan (1922–2008), who became a monk at Saint Benedict Center in Harvard, Massachusetts. [3]
William Frend De Morgan (16 November 1839 – 15 January 1917) was an English potter, tile designer and novelist. [1] A lifelong friend of William Morris , he designed tiles, stained glass and furniture for Morris & Co. from 1863 to 1872.
