Mahidpur City is a city and a municipality, near Ujjain city in Ujjain district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Mahidpur City takes its name from Raja Maheda Bhil, who was the founder of Mahidpur. [1] The modern town of Mahidpur is situated on the bank of river Shipra. It is located in the Malwa region.
The Battle of Mahidpur was fought during the Third Anglo-Maratha War between the Indore State of the Maratha Confederacy and the British East India Company at Mahidpur, a town in the Malwa region, on 21 December 1817.
