Richard "Dick" Blumenthal [a] (/ ˈ b l uː m ə n θ ɑː l / BLOO-mən-thahl; born February 13, 1946) is an American lawyer and politician who is the senior United States senator from Connecticut, a seat he has held since 2011.
Blumenthal was born in Stamford, Connecticut and raised in Stamford and Greenwich, Connecticut, to then state representative Richard Blumenthal, and his wife, Cynthia Malkin. He received his undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Harvard College, majoring in History and Literature. [1]
