Megarhyssa, also known as giant ichneumonid wasps, giant ichneumons, or stump stabbers, [1] is a genus of large ichneumon wasps, with some species known for having the longest ovipositors of any insects. They are idiobiont endoparasitoids of the larvae of wood-boring horntail wasps. The ovipositor can be mistaken for a large stinger. [2]
The Ichneumonidae, also known as ichneumon wasps, ichneumonid wasps, ichneumonids, or Darwin wasps, are a family of parasitoid wasps of the insect order Hymenoptera. They are one of the most diverse groups within the Hymenoptera with roughly 25,000 species described as of 2016 [update] . [ 2 ]

For the deceiving method, the wasp would act as if it was caught in the spiders web and lay still on its back. When the spider approaches, the wasp will grab onto the host and sting repeatedly until the spider stops struggling so the wasp can insert the ovipositor into the spider's cephalothorax and continuously sting for 2 minutes. Hymenoptera is a large order of insects, comprising the sawflies, wasps, bees, and ants. Over 150,000 living species of Hymenoptera have been described, [2] [3] in addition to over 2,000 extinct ones. [4] Many of the species are parasitic. Females typically have a special ovipositor for inserting eggs into hosts or places that are otherwise ...
The species Pimpla rufipes has several synonyms, which include Pimpla hypochondriaca and Pimpla instigator. Pimpla instigator (Fabricius, 1793) has been permanently rejected under the International code of Zoological Nomenclature, since the original name Ichneumon instigator Fabricius, 1793 is a junior homonym of Ichneumon instigator Rossius, 1790, which represents a pimpline species outside ...
Plus, the R&B hitmaker says the hardest part was leaving his costume behind: "I could have put that in the contract, but we thought about it too late."
A spider wasp. Pompilids typically have long, spiny legs; the hind femur is often long enough to reach past the tip of the abdomen. The tibiae of the rear legs usually have a conspicuous spine at their distal end. The first two segments of the abdomen are narrow, giving the body a slender look.
