The headquarters for the library system is the Augusta-Richmond County Public Library, located in Augusta. The library system is a member of Public Information Network for Electronic Services , or PINES, a program of the Georgia Public Library Service that serves 300 member libraries covering 146 counties of Georgia. On July 27, 2021, all ten campuses went live with UC Library Search, a unified systemwide library catalog based on the Ex Libris Alma/Primo platform. [2] The UC libraries also manage a digital library, the California Digital Library or CDL. They also hold special collections and electronic archives of research documents.
Additional buildings, such as Boykin Wright and Reese Library, were added in the 1980s. [10] In 1996, Augusta College was renamed Augusta State University, [9] and campus continued to expand with the addition of University Hall and a new Science Hall. The name remained until the 2013 consolidation with GHSU.
