Gilmore is an unincorporated community in Washington Township, Tuscarawas County, Ohio, south of the village of Gnadenhutten. [1] Gilmore sits on Tuscarawas County Road 10 (Gilmore Road) and is intersected by Tuscarawas County Road 14 (River Hill and Fallen Timber Roads) at Gilmore's square.
The lake is incorporated within Guilford Lake State Park, which was established in 1949. [3] The park includes a small campground to the north side of the lake, a small beach and a playground. Facilities with paddle and pontoon boat rentals are available along with a public boat launch ramp on the shore.

Van Buren State Park is a public recreation area surrounding 45-acre (18 ha) Van Buren Lake in Hancock County, Ohio, in the United States. The state park covers 296 acres (120 ha) abutting the southern boundary of the village of Van Buren and offers fishing, boating, camping, hiking, and other recreational activities.
In 1894, the Ohio State Legislature changed the reservoir's name to "Buckeye Lake". An amusement park and other recreation-oriented business developed, thrived and eventually declined as the 20th century proceeded. In 1949 Buckeye Lake was named a state park. Much of the area around the lake came to be used for vacation or permanent residences. [4]
