Hunter × Hunter is an anime television series that aired from 2011 to 2014 based on Yoshihiro Togashi's manga series Hunter × Hunter. The story begins with a young boy named Gon Freecss , who one day discovers that the father who he thought was dead, is in fact alive and well.

Viz Media licensed the Hunter × Hunter anime for distribution in the Region 1 market, where it was released across four DVD box-sets. [4] The first set was released on December 9, 2008 and the final was released on December 1, 2009. Madhouse's 2011 adaptation was met with near-universal critical acclaim. Adrian Marcano from Inverse considered Hunter x Hunter 2011 to be one of the greatest anime series ever. Beginning in 1999, Nippon Animation produced a 62-episode anime television series based on Hunter × Hunter. Due to Hunter × Hunter fans' unsatisfied reactions to the conclusion of the adaptation in 2001, three subsequent original video animations (OVAs) produced by Nippon Animation have carried the story from where the broadcast left off.
