The Roman Catholic Diocese of Ogdensburg covers the North Country and St. Lawrence Valley of northern New York. There are over 100 parishes in the eight-county area, which spans St. Lawrence, Jefferson, Lewis, Franklin, Clinton, Essex, and northern Herkimer and Hamilton Counties.
Oak Hill Park Historic District is a historic district located at Olean in Cattaraugus County, New York. The 32.5-acre (132,000 m 2) district encompasses 89 properties including 82 residences, two churches, one school (the Olean High School), and a landscape design. There are 76 contributing buildings.

The area of Olean was first settled circa 1805. The town of Olean was established in 1808 from Batavia as the first town in the county. The northern part of the county was spun off as the town of Hebe in 1812; the western part became the town of Perry (later Perrysburg) in 1814, Great Valley was formed in 1818, Hinsdale in 1820, and Portville in 1837.
The county is part of the Western New York region of the state. Cattaraugus County comprises the Olean, NY Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Buffalo-Cheektowaga-Olean, NY Combined Statistical Area. Within its boundaries are the Allegany Indian Reservation of the Seneca Nation of New York, and the Allegany State Park.
Archbishop Walsh was established in 1958 and is the only Catholic high school in Western New York south of Cattaraugus Creek. [1] Constructed at the height of the Cold War, the building's foundation included a fall out shelter for students and faculty in the event nuclear war found its way to the Enchanted Mountains.
The district encompasses 17 contributing buildings in the central business district of Olean. The district developed between about 1866 and 1939, and includes buildings in a variety of architectural styles including Beaux-Arts, Queen Anne, and Art Deco. Located in the district are the separately listed Olean Post Office and Olean Public Library.
