    Graham is right. There is nothing vague about the term "light aircraft". It is well defined. ICAO, EASA, FAA. Hence the term is not used by any of these bodies to refer to the new categories. The EASA term VLA (Very Light Aircraft) is to distinguish them from Light Aircraft. VLA is sub 800kg, Light Aircraft is below 5700kg.
