Rakshak (Hindi: रक्षक, romanized: rakṣak "protector" [2] [9]) is the second studio album by the Indian heavy metal band Bloodywood, independently released on 18 February 2022. [ 6 ] [ 1 ] The album's music is a blend of Indian folk music and heavy metal , while the lyrics are sung in the English, Hindi and Punjabi languages.
This was followed by a metal cover version of the popular Bhangra/Indi-pop song "Tunak Tunak Tun" by Daler Mehndi, featuring guest vocals from Bonde do Metaleiro. Bloodywood guitarist and flautist, Karan Katiyar, has stated that the song was chosen due to it being unheard of outside of the country: "No one knew about "Ari Ari" outside India and that's where it worked." [1] [5] The majority of the group's prior material is composed of humorous covers of well-known songs.
