Torontál (Hungarian: Torontál, German: Torontal, Serbian: Торонтал, Romanian: Torontal) was an administrative county of the Kingdom of Hungary.Its territory is now divided between Serbia and Romania, except for a small area which is part of Hungary.
The county neighbored Caraș County to the southeast, Severin County to the east, Arad County to the north, Kingdom of Yugoslavia to the west and southwest and Hungary to the northwest. In 1929 Timis-Torontal County was integrated into the 7th Ministerial Directorate, led by Sever Bocu . [ 1 ]
In 1873 part of the Military Frontier was united with Hungary proper and part with Croatia-Slavonia. Hungary proper, according to ancient usage, was generally divided into four great divisions or circles, and Transylvania up to 1876 was regarded as the fifth. In 1876 a general system of counties was introduced.
After the abolishment of this province, in 1778, the village was included into the Torontal County, which was part of the Habsburg Kingdom of Hungary. In 1848–49, Klek was part of the autonomous Serbian Vojvodina, while in 1849–1860 it was part of the Voivodeship of Serbia and Banat of Temeschwar, a separate Austrian land.

It was administratively included into Torontal County within the Kingdom of Hungary (1526–1867) however the Austrian Empire ruled the Kingdom of Hungary. Draining of the marshlands prior to first human settlement necessitated the opening of the Maria Theresa Canal to bypass the future village of Ürmenhausen.
