Lake Villa is a village in Lake County, Illinois United States. Per the 2020 census , the population was 8,741. [ 3 ] Lake Villa lies within Lake Villa Township and about 50 miles north of Chicago and is part of the United States Census Bureau 's Chicago combined statistical area (CSA).
Lake Villa Township has a total area of 26.1 square miles (67.6 km 2), of which 3.2 square miles (8.4 km 2) or 12.47% is water. [3] Geologically, it is a region of glacial till, with numerous glacial lakes and wetlands. Principal lakes are Cedar Lake, Deep Lake, Crooked Lake, Sand Lake, Miltmore Lake, and Fourth Lake.

Metz eventually sold the castle in 1912, and the site fell into disrepair and neglect before the non-profit Friends of the Castle sought to restore the Villa in 1978. Work on restoring the castle was completed in 1998 ...

Its area was increased on March 10, 1983 by the addition of the Villa Apartments, 3948-3952 and 3949-3953 W. Waveland Ave. [1] The Villa District was designated a Chicago Landmark on November 23, 1983. [2]
