Paathshaala (transl. School) is a 2010 Indian Hindi-language drama film that stars Shahid Kapoor, Ayesha Takia, Shraddha Arya, Ali Haji, Sushant Singh and Nana Patekar and is directed by Milind Ukey. The story, revolving around children on a school campus is a commentary on the Indian education system and its shortcomings.
The music for the film was composed by Rahul Raj with lyrics by Sri Mani. [3] In an audio review, a critic from Idlebrain.com wrote, " Paathasala music album is engaging and refreshing". [ 4 ] Karthik of Milliblog! wrote, "Rahul does considerably better than his debut here!"
The song "Paatashaala" was later released on 3 March 2021. [17] According to S. Thaman, the song was the main reason behind the essence of the whole film was formed. [18] On 10 March 2021, the fifth and final song "Feel The Power" was released through streaming platforms. [19] The Tamil and Hindi soundtracks were released at a later date.
Along with the album, Kumar made a music video for the title track. She also sang "Mujhe Teri" from the movie Paathshaala, "Love Mera Hit" from the film Billu with Neeraj Shridhar, and "Tum Jo Aaye" from Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai. She sang the song "Mainu Ishq Da Lagya Rog" in 2015, through which her sister Khushali made her screen debut.
Speaking about one of his songs, "Luka Chuppi", in which veteran Lata Mangeshkar sang with Rahman, [6] Joshi said that it was developed while discussing with Rahman the scene about a mother losing her son.
