Hello! I recently went through the surprisingly fun and challenging process of putting all of the data on crops on this site into a complete excel file data set. Because it's SO much information, it's a little hard to read, but all the info is there to the best of my ability. I wanted to have...
Another general tip but especially for fall as the options are so close together, I wouldn't bother with mixing crops as it's just more harvest days wasting your time. Just stick with one thing and plant a few varied crops for the community center, etc. Endgame: I wouldn't say ancient fruit is the unanimous winner for profit.
Crops are plants that are grown from seeds to be harvested for the purpose of profit, food, or gifting. Generally, each crop is seasonal. It can be planted only during its designated season, and when seasons change (after the 28th day), the crop will wither and die.
The best crops profit wise are definitely potatoes in your first year. Make sure you get those watered every day. And the parsnips that you got, if you haven't already sold them, keep them as energy for the mines. While you're waiting for your potatoes to grow try and get as deep in the mines as possible.
Starfruit, it can even be better for profit than ancient fruit if you're growing it fast enough - in 9 or 8 days (a harvest every 8 or 7 if accounting for constant replanting). Otherwise I'd just use something like a berry crop since you don't have artisan
I have been playing Stardew Valley for a while, now. One of the best things about it is that aspect of realism when it comes to maximizing your profit and resources while minimizing your losses and time usage. I have gotten to the point where I want to capitalize and run my game in the most proficient way possible.
Dunno about maximizing profits but I'm trying to build as many Crystalariums as possible. Using PC version, with Stardew Valley Expanded mod (as well as some QoL mods), I'm in Year 21 with something like 2700-2800 Crystalariums all placed in the Desert and 505 Statues of Endless Fortune on my farm.
I've just checked this on the latest Steam version of Stardew Valley, playing an unmodded game. On Normal profit margins, Pierre sells Sunflower Seeds for 200g, and JojaMart sells them for 125g. On 25% profit margins, Pierre still sells for 200g, but JojaMart now sells them for 31g.
5 fruits at 7.5x base price + 25. That's 1.5x base price + 25. Wine is 3x base price, which will win out for any fruit where 1.5x base price is 25 or more.
Kegs and jars are a different situation, it's pretty easy to end up planting more than you have kegs/jars for. You want to keg/jar whichever crops have the highest base sell price (the base sell price is just the sell price with no professions or anything). As a general rule of thumb this is usually the long growth time crops.
