Cuckoo Man is a bird shop owner whose powers are the most limited of the group. Unlike the other Mighty Heroes, all four of whom can fly with no effort, Cuckoo Man has to flap his arms almost constantly in order to keep aloft. The conclusion of every episode always shows him lagging behind the others as they fly off into the distance.

The cartoon fades to black and then the end title card after Rip van Winkle eliminates everyone into The Hurricane and Gone with the Wind pops up. As a result of this, the brief scene where the cuckoo bird's mouth is covered and van Winkle sleeping on the clock is also cut. [5]
The cuckoo, common cuckoo, European cuckoo or Eurasian cuckoo (Cuculus canorus) is a member of the cuckoo order of birds, Cuculiformes, which includes the roadrunners, the anis and the coucals. This species is a widespread summer migrant to Europe and Asia, and winters in Africa.
The cartoon starts with an owl named "Owl Kott" (satirizing Alexander Woollcott's Town Crier radio program) giving an introduction to the festivities. This is followed by a Ben Bernie caricature called "Ben Birdie", feuding with "Walter Finchell". The same spoof was used in the cartoon The CooCoo Nut Grove (1936).
