According to the latest release of the UPS developer kit documentation "Tracking Web Services Developers Guide - January 04, 2016" the tracking API can be accessed via REST / JSON. However, there is very little information within their PDF documentation about the JSON side of things both in the PDF and on the interwebs.
In Google Sheets, this cell formula should work to concatenate the URL encoded API URL and XML response, with your user ID and the tracking number, assuming you have your tracking number in cell A2, and your API Key / User ID in Cell F2.
Thanks to the help and code from @QHarr I have got the tracking info from Fedex, DHL and Startrack working. I have been trying to use his code and the UPS tracking Web Service Developer Guide and Tracking JSON Developer Guides to get UPS to work as well within Excel.
I've just received my tracking number from the store I purchased some items, from, and the tracking number I got starts with a 8010 and is 16 digits long. It shows up when I try to track on UPS, but isn't the typical tracking number starting with 1Z. Why is this? It uses a service a never heard of, "UPS Mail Innovations Priority".
