The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor, marked Quasi una fantasia, Op. 27, No. 2, is a piano sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven, completed in 1801 and dedicated in 1802 to his pupil Countess Julie "Giulietta" Guicciardi.
Ludwig van Beethoven's opus number 27 is a set of two piano sonatas. They were published separately [ 1 ] in March 1802. [ 2 ] Both sonatas are entitled Sonata quasi una Fantasia , which roughly translated as sonatas in the style of a fantasia .
Ludwig van Beethoven wrote 32 mature piano sonatas between 1795 and 1822. (He also wrote 3 juvenile sonatas at the age of 13 [1] and one unfinished sonata, WoO. 51.)Although originally not intended to be a meaningful whole, as a set they comprise one of the most important collections of works in the history of music.
