U.S. Route 70 (US 70) is a part of the United States Numbered Highway System that runs from Globe, Arizona, to the Crystal Coast of the US state of North Carolina.In North Carolina, it is a major 488-mile-long (785 km) east–west highway that runs from the Tennessee border to the Atlantic Ocean.
North Carolina Highway 70 was an original state highway established in 1921. In 1925, NC 70 was rerouted to Lumberton, then down south to the South Carolina state line following today's NC 41. The part from Lumberton to Rowland became NC 22. In 1926, NC 70 was placed onto the current US 220 Alternate near Seagrove.

NC 101 continues east from US 70 along Fontana Boulevard south of the Cherry Point Military Base. As NC 101 continues eastward it passes farms and forest along the routing. NC 101 meets up with the southern terminus of NC 306 south of the Minnesott Beach Ferry. At this point, the highway becomes concurrent with North Carolina Bicycle Route 7. [3]
