The Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) is the governing body of athletic programs for junior and senior high schools in the state of Kentucky. It conducts state championship competitions in all the KHSAA-sanctioned sports.
KHSAA was created by the Kentucky Department of Education to manage high school athletes in Kentucky. [ 4 ] Whether public, private, or federally administered, all member schools compete for state championships on an equal basis.
While it is not a sport recognized by the KHSAA, cheerleading is popular and very competitive at George Rogers Clark. In 2006, the cheerleading team captured its fourth straight Kentucky Association of Prep Organization Sponsors (KAPOS) state championship. The squad has won 12 of the last 13 state championships in the traditional at-large category.

The cheerleading program is nationally ranked, with seven UCA National Cheerleading Championship titles (most recently in 2018). They won the KAPOS State title in the traditional division five consecutive seasons (2008 to 2012). They also won the KHSAA small varsity division three consecutive seasons (2016 to 2018).
