Steven Hill (born Solomon Krakovsky; Yiddish: שלמה קראַקאָווסקי; February 24, 1922 – August 23, 2016) was an American actor.He is best known for his television roles as district attorney Adam Schiff on the NBC television drama series Law & Order (1990–2000) and Dan Briggs on the CBS action television series Mission: Impossible (1966–1967).
Steven Hill, who was on both the 1960s iconic television series Mission: Impossible and Law & Order, died Tuesday. He was 94.
The tenth season of Law & Order premiered on NBC, September 22, 1999 alongside Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and ended May 24, 2000. Executive Producers René Balcer and Ed Sherin both left the show at the end of the season. This is the final season to feature Steven Hill as Adam Schiff, who was the last original cast member.

This change left District Attorney Adam Schiff (played by Steven Hill) as the only remaining member of the series' cast from the first season. Hill was not an original member of the cast, as his character replaced District Attorney Alfred Wentworth (played by Roy Thinnes) from the original pilot, "Everyone's Favorite Bagman".
