Mount Jimmy Simpson is a 2,966-metre (9,731-foot) summit located 3 kilometres (1.9 miles) northwest of Bow Lake in Banff National Park, in the Canadian Rockies of Alberta, Canada. Its nearest higher peak is Mount Thompson , 3.0 km (1.9 mi) to the southwest. [ 2 ]
The icefield is shared by Banff and Yoho National Parks and numerous outlet glaciers extend from the icefield, including the Vulture, Bow and Peyto Glaciers. Runoff from the icefields and outlet glaciers supply water to both the Kicking Horse and Bow Rivers , as well as numerous streams and lakes.
Based on the Köppen climate classification, Caldron Peak is located in a subarctic climate with cold, snowy winters, and mild summers. [6] Temperatures can drop below -20 C with wind chill factors below -30 C. Precipitation runoff from Caldron Peak Peak drains into the Mistaya River which is a tributary of the North Saskatchewan River.
Mistaya River originates in Peyto Lake, a glacial lake of typical blue colour (due to rock flour). Mistaya flows north-west, receiving the waters of creeks such as Delta, Silverhorn, Cirque, Noyes, Chephren, Totem, Epaulette, Bison, Kaufmann and Sarbach. A series of elongated lakes are formed along the river: Mistaya Lake and Waterfowl Lakes.

Bow Lake is a small lake in western Alberta, Canada.It is located on the Bow River, in the Canadian Rockies, at an altitude of 1920 m.. The lake lies south of the Bow Summit, east of the Waputik Range (views including Wapta Icefield, Bow Glacier, Bow Peak, Mount Thompson, Crowfoot Glacier and Crowfoot Mountain) and west of the Dolomite Pass, Dolomite Peak and Cirque Peak.
