According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 16.4 square miles (42.5 km 2), of which 16.1 square miles (41.7 km 2) is land and 0.3 square miles (0.8 km 2), or 1.83%, is water. Unincorporated communities in the township include Burnstown, Chewton, Rock Point, and Park Gate.
