Dhaka South City Corporation (Bengali: ঢাকা দক্ষিণ সিটি কর্পোরেশন: in short-DSCC), is a self-governing body that governs the municipal areas of Capital Dhaka South Side of Bangladesh. The DSCC government is elected by popular vote every five years.
The mayor of South Dhaka is the highest ranking official of the Dhaka South City Corporation. The Mayor's office administers all city services, public property, most public agencies, and enforces all city and state laws within Dhaka south city. The Mayor's office is located in Nagar Bhaban; it has jurisdiction over all 75 wards of Dhaka South City.
The City Council of Bangladesh is a city corporation's ward representatives who are elected by popular vote and are known as councillors. Councilors carry out the developmental works of their elected wards and perform the functions of local government and assist the City Mayor in all works under the City Corporation and carry out his orders.

In 2020 after Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh became mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation, he appointed Nuri Chief Executive Officer of the corporation. [5]Nuri was appointed chairman of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha in April 2021 replacing acting chairman Sayeed Hasan Sikder, who held the post after the retirement of Mohammad Sayeed Noor Alam.
The corporation was dissolved by the Local Government (City Corporation) Amendment Bill 2011 on 29 November, [1] passed in the Parliament of Bangladesh, and formally ceased to exist on 1 December 2011, following the President's approval, [3] making way for a Dhaka North and a Dhaka South city corporations.
