Benny Golson (January 25, 1929 – September 21, 2024) was an American bebop and hard bop jazz tenor saxophonist, composer, and arranger. He came to prominence with the big bands of Lionel Hampton and Dizzy Gillespie, more as a writer than a performer, before launching his solo career.
Killer Joe is an album by Benny Golson recorded in 1977 and released by the Columbia label. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] This was Golson's first jazz album in over a decade when his career has been devoted to writing music for television and motion pictures.
Killer Joe transferred to London on 16 January 1995 at the Bush Theatre. The limited run at the Bush Theatre was a sell out, and once again received rave reviews. [4] After closing at the Bush Theatre, Killer Joe opened at the Vaudeville Theatre, London, for one year. [citation needed]
