Reynolda Historic District is a 178 acres (72 ha) national historic district located on Reynolda Road in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It includes work by Charles Barton Keen and by landscape architect Thomas Warren Sears. The listing includes twenty-two contributing buildings and one other contributing structure.

Notable buildings include the Beaux-Arts style former United States Post Office (1914-1915, 1936-1937) with an addition by Northup and O'Brien, Brown-Rogers-Dixson Company Building (1928), Centenary Church Education Building (1920s), Pure Oil Station, City Market (1925), and Twin City Motor Company (1925).
Throughout most of the 2010s, a series of road improvements were made along US 52 in Winston-Salem, including replacement of bridges, interchanges and widening of lanes and shoulders. The initial change was a replacement of the Liberty Street bridges (built in 1964) over Liberty Street and the Norfolk Southern Railroad Switching Yard.
At exit 89, NC 8 joins the freeway and the road turns from northeast to due north. The next interchange is exit 97 (Old US 52) which provides access to both Welcome and the community of Midway. After exit 100 (Hickory Tree Road), I-285 enters the city of Winston-Salem. Exit 103 is for South Main Street, and exit 105 is for Clemmonsville Road.

North Carolina Highway 897 (NC 897) was an original state highway that traversed from NC 60/NC 65, in Winston-Salem, to SR 33 at the Virginia state line. Going north on Liberty Street, from 4th Street, in Winston-Salem, it went at a northeasterly route along Old Walkertown Road and Pine Hall Road to Pine Hall.
