Redman was born in southern central Ohio. [1] He grew up in North Carolina, Florida, Virginia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. [2] Redman comes from a military family. His paternal grandfather flew B-24 Liberator bombers for the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II and was highly decorated.
